There is nothing wrong with being human.

You make sense.

Hello, my name is Alyssa. I’m a CSWA (Certified Clinical Social Work Associate) working under the supervision of Raina McRae, LCSW. My decision to pursue social work comes from both personal and professional experiences that have shown me how deeply our relationships, environments, and larger systems shape our lives.

My approach is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and the understanding that our thoughts, emotions, bodies, and relationships are deeply interconnected. Together, we'll explore the patterns that have shaped your life with compassion, recognizing that many of the ways we cope are adaptations that once helped us survive.

I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness-based practices, and trauma-informed relational therapy while tailoring our work to your unique experiences and goals. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a vision therapist, helping clients strengthen the integration of their visual, sensory, and motor systems. That experience continues to inform my appreciation for the connection between the brain, body, nervous system, and emotional well-being. I also have a background in outpatient mental health, domestic violence advocacy, Adult Protective Services, and community behavioral health. I enjoy working with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, burnout, identity exploration, life transitions, relationship concerns, and the lasting impact of chronic stress.

Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply looking to understand yourself more deeply, I hope therapy can become a place where you feel safe enough to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with your values.

I am a master's-level candidate holding a certificate to practice in Oregon as a social work associate. I practice under a board-approved clinical supervisor, pursuant to OAR 877-020-0012, at Mindful Therapy Group, P.C.
